Is there a way to cancel my room?

You will find informations on the cancellation conditions in your booking confirmation. Our reception team is in order to help you from 07.00 to 14.00 at office@kai36.at or by telephone on +43 316 81 33 00. Our standard rate can be cancelled free of charge until 2 pm on the day before arrival.

Do I have to inform you about my credit card details before arrival?

A credit card is required to guarantee your booking and will not be charged without to inform you. You booked online? Your credit card details will be requested automatically. If you booked by e-mail or telephone, we may ask you to provide your details by telephone.

How can I pay for my stay?

We accept cash and all major credit cards: Mastercard/Eurocard, Visa, Maestro/Bankomat, American Express, Diners and JBL.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in starts at 3 pm, check-out is until 11 am. To reduce waiting times at reception, we recommend that you fill in the registration form before you arrive. You will receive this by e-mail 48 hours before arrival.

Can I leave my suitcase at your hotel, if I arrive early?

Our aim is to make your arrival and departure as comfortable as possible. You are welcome to leave your luggage at our hotel - we will keep it safe until you need it again or bring it to your booked room for you.

Is parking available?

Parking facilities are an important aspect for our guests, which is why we offer a hotel-owned underground parking garage. The Kai36 therefore offers you a convenient parking service and parks your vehicle in our outdoor car park or in the underground parking garage of our neighbouring sister hotel, depending on its size. The parking fee is EUR 22.00 per night. For e-vehicles we charge additional Euro 20.00 per e-charge.

What are the opening hours of the reception?

Our reception team is at your disposal daily from 07.00 am to 10.00 pm. Directly enclosed to the Kai 36 Hotel you will find our sister hotel named „Schlossberghotel“, which is open 24 hours per day.

At what times is breakfast served and is it included in the price?

We are as flexible as our guests are. That's why we serve our excellent breakfast à la carte in our bar every day from 07.00 am to 02.00 pm. Feel free to enjoy our homemade bread with Thum truffle ham, Egg Florentine, homemade Granola and several other delicates.

Do you also offer lactose- and gluten-free products?

Your well-being is a matter close to our hearts, which is why we are happy to take your special dietary requirements and eating habits into account. We offer a selection of plant-based milk alternatives and gluten-free pastries as standard.

Is it possible to visit the Café 'Bar' and have breakfast as an external guest?

The Café ‘Bar’ is available to our hotel guests and external guests during all opening hours. If you like to have breakfast with more than 4 people, we kindly ask you to reserve a table by calling +43 316 81330 or sending an email to office@kai36.at.

Are all rooms equipped with a minibar?

The Kai 36 is a coherent ensemble that has been sensitively integrated into a building complex that is over 500 years old. Each of the 20 rooms speaks its own language, both in terms of architecture and furnishings. It's easy to do without a minibar, especially when there's a stylish hotel bar to fall back on - self-service included.

Are pets allowed?

Pets are part of the family, so we are happy to welcome them to our hotel. For an extra charge of Euro 25.00 per night, you can bring your pet with you and be sure that your four-legged companion will feel just as comfortable as you do.

Are there bike rental facilities at the hotel?

Yes, we offer bike hire so that you can explore the surrounding area on your own. Please ask for availability before your arrival or directly at reception.

Is it possible to book half or full board with you and does the hotel have a restaurant?

The Kai 36 does not have its own restaurant, this is why we don‘t offer half or full board. Our reception staff knows the city like the back of their hand and will be able to recommend rustic inns, stylish restaurants and the best addresses for gourmets.

Are all rooms air-conditioned?

All rooms at Kai 36 are equipped with underfloor heating and air conditioning, so you can determine your own comfortable temperature.

Is there a bar in the hotel?

The Café 'Bar' is open for hotel guests and walk-in customers. A quick organic espresso during the day or a glass of biodynamic wine in the evening by the window with a view of the Mur - there's a lot going on here. Our opening hours: 07.00am to 11.00pm.

What are the opening hours of roof terrace and pool?

The roof terrace at Kai 36 is exclusively available to hotel guests and is a fantastic vantage point at any time of the year to enjoy the view over Graz's historic city centre. The pool on the roof terrace is open from 1 May to 31 October and offers an excellent opportunity to refresh yourself on a hot summer's day. You'll find towels and slippers in your room - by the way, you can buy sun cream and a refreshing summer drink in our café/concept store on the ground floor.

Which room category do you recommend for families?

For families with children, we recommend our higher categories ‘Supreme’ and ‘Super Supreme’ as these have more space and also extra beds are available for children up to the age of 17. Our reception team will inform you individually, tailored to the needs of your family.milie.

Is there Wifi in the hotel/rooms?

To ensure that you are connected to the world at all times, we offer free Wifi throughout the hotel. Whether you're traveling for business or pleasure, you can easily stay online and share your experiences.

Is my room furnished with a coffee machine?

We offer a very special service for coffee lovers: have your coffee machine including capsules from Nespresso brought to your room and enjoy fresh coffee at any time. It's best to make your request when you book. The allocation is subject to availability.

Does the Kai 36 have a wellness area and a fitness room/gym?

As a guest of Kai 36, you have the opportunity to use the wellness area with Finnish sauna, infrared cabin and fitness room in the neighbouring Schlossberghotel free of charge. It is also possible to book massages with prior arrangement. Is there a souvenir shop at Kai 36?

At our concept store on the ground floor you will find a selection of souvenirs, handmade products and high-quality cosmetics from Susanne Kaufmann. Our staff will assist you on your choice of souvenir.

Is smoking permitted at Kai 36?

The Kai 36 is a non-smoking hotel. We ask you to smoke in the open areas such as the inner courtyard and the terraces.

Are there disabled-accessible rooms at Kai 36?

The Kai 36 is open to all guests, but we are aware of the special needs of people with disabilities. Due to the exposed location directly below the Schlossberg and the integration of the hotel into a century-old building complex, neither the rooms nor the public areas are completely barrier-free. How far is the city centre from Kai 36?

Kai 36 is located directly in the historic city centre of Graz. From here, you can reach the city centre and the most important sights either on foot or conveniently by tram in just a few minutes. The tram stops directly in front of the hotel.

What other amenities does the Kai 36 offer?

Our staff will be happy to help and advise you before, during and after your stay. Many practical accessories are available free of charge at reception: toothbrush, sewing kit, comb, shaving kit.

Are vouchers available?

Breakfast in artistic surroundings or a city break with your best friend? A voucher from Hotel Kai 36 is a gift for any occasion. You can obtain gift vouchers from Kai 36 at reception, by e-mail to office@kai36.at or by telephone on +43 316 81 33 00. Gift vouchers must be paid for in advance by credit card.
